What To Bring To The Dealership
DEALERSHIP CHECKLIST
What To Bring To The Dealership
When Gettel Toyota Gainesville opened in 1994, our top priority was our customers — and it still is. Our community is the backbone of everything we do, and it’s the reason our dealership is what it is today. To help our guests through the car buying and leasing process, we’ve put together steps they can take to save time at the dealership.
Step one is to find the car you want. If you’ve already done that, you’re one step closer to driving off with a new ride. If not, that’s where we can help. We have a vast inventory of new and used vehicles that you can browse directly through our website. When you find your dream car (and we know you will), you can save even more time by getting pre-approved for financing on our website too. Finally, there are several different types of documents you’ll need to bring to the dealership when you’re ready to sign off on the purchase or lease of your new car. Here’s a list of those documents to help you prepare. We encourage you to save it on your phone or laptop, or print the checklist below!

What To Bring To Purchase A Vehicle
- Driver’s License: You should always have your license with you, but it’s especially important when visiting a car dealership. Before you can test drive a car, a member of our team will ask to see a copy of your driver’s license.
- Proof of Insurance: In Florida, all drivers must carry proof of insurance whenever they’re behind the wheel. When you purchase your car at Gettel Automotive, you will need to show valid proof of insurance. For more peace of mind, contact your insurance agent to find out what you need to add the new vehicle to your policy.
- Proof of Income: If you’re planning on getting a loan through Gettel Automotive, bring a few of your most recent pay stubs. Showing proof of employment is crucial when applying for an auto loan.
- Preferred Form of Payment: Whether you decide a loan, check, or cash is your preferred form of payment, you’ll want to have it ready. Plan to have your down payment with you when you walk in. and if you plan to finance through the dealership, make sure to set aside some time to fill out the necessary paperwork.
- Credit Score and History: At Gettel Automotive, we can pull and check your credit score, but before you come in, you can check it yourself and bring it in for us to speed up the process.
- Discount Information: If you have a discount coming from the dealership, manufacturer, or your credit card company, you’ll need to provide accurate documentation in order to take advantage of it.
What To Bring To Trade In Your Vehicle
- Title and Registration: This documentation is important when proving that the car you want to trade in is actually yours. If you’re having trouble locating the original title, you can get a copy from your DMV. If your registration is expired, it should still be eligible.
- Service Records: You can increase the trade-in value of your vehicle by providing proper documentation of all service and maintenance performed.
- All Sets of Keys: Bring all sets of keys that you have for your vehciel.
